Our team members:

	Jon Bell - Owner. Jon has been working at the 207 N. Sepulveda location since it was Bob's Nursery in the 1990s when he was a sophomore at Mira Costa High School. He has now achieved his dream of being the owner of his own nursery at this location. The name he has chosen: "Deep Roots Garden Center" signifies Jon's attachment to the location and his commitment to the gardeners of Manhattan Beach and the South Bay. Jon has an eye for design and is a true plant aficionado. He is an engaging speaker and many people know him as the person who gives fun and entertaining weekend classes. Jon has designed and installed some of the best interior plantscapes in Manhattan and Hermosa Beach. Jon’s goal is to make your experience with plants successful, rewarding and affordable.
	Christine - Co-Owner, CFO. Christine is Jon's mother and co-owner of Deep Roots. She is a psychologist by profession but assists in the nursery on busy days.
	Brandon - Landscape Designer. Brandon was born and raised in southern California. He studied at Cal Poly and is a California Certified Nurseryman. Brandon has worked in the horticulture business for over ten years and has been a landscape designer for 8 years. His interests include writing, gardens, longboarding, Greek tragedy and film.
	Jeff - Nursery Associate. Born and raised in the South Bay, Jeff studied Horticulture and Nursery Production at Mira Costa College in San Diego County. For five years he was the manager at Laura's Garden, a production nursery specializing in California natives and drought tolerant color in Valley Center, CA. His interests include gardening, FISHING, music and the Arts.
	Isabel - Floral Designer. Like many of the team members at Deep Roots Isabel worked for the previous owners. She started working as a flower processor at the Flower Shop in 2002 alongside her sister Ramona (see below). She graduated to the position of Floral Designer after showing a natural aptitude for floral arrangement. At Deep Roots she is a valuable and versatile part of the Floral Design team bringing an exotic flavor to her arrangements.
	K - Part-Time Floral Designer. K was born in Chiba, Japan and came to the USA in 2000. Her education is in Computer Aided Design and she currently works as a freelance CAD designer. K learned flower arranging while working in a flower shop in her home town during her high school years. She is an indispensable member of the Deep Roots Flower Shop design team, bringing a calm and delicate Japanese aesthetic to her arrangements.
	Heather - Flower Shop Associate, Merchandising and Wedding Specialist. Heather was born and raised in Manhattan Beach. She is an alumna of Mira Costa High School and USC and also attended Otis Art Institute. She is an award-winning artist. Her awards include the "Paint the Pier" competition and the Neptunian Women's Club Award. Heather was the Wedding Specialist at Williams Sonoma for 5 years and now brings her expertise to Deep Roots Floral Design Studio. In her free time she practices gymnastics and ballet, and volunteers with Life Rolls On. She also loves to travel.
	Ramona - Nursery Assistant. Ramona has been here since the days of Bob's Nursery. She is an expert in flower processing and it is because of her careful work that "Deep Roots" flowers last so long. Even though you will hardly ever see Ramona, she is a crucial part of our team providing valuable back up to all departments.
	Barbara - Part-Time Nursery Associate, Web Site maintenance, Marketing Assistant. Barbara is a graduate of the University of the Arts, London. She is by profession a photographer but being from England, gardening is in her blood and is her passion. She is a lifelong gardener with 40 years experience of growing flowers, fruit and vegetables. The last twenty seven years have been spent developing her English style garden here in the South Bay. She brings years of local gardening knowledge and experience to Deep Roots' customers. She designed and built our web site, maintains our subscriber list, creates our monthly newsletter, and has supplied many of the photographs on these pages . Barbara also organizes photographic tours to Europe.
	Eren - Part-Time Floral Designer. Eren is a graduate of California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. Since graduating Eren has continued her education in floral design, studying at the Teleflora Education Center in Oklahoma City and at the Anaheim School of Floral Design. She has won several awards including runner-up in the Teleflora Design Competition in 2003. She has extensive experience working as a floral designer and as manager in florists in Marina Del Rey and Brentwood, and is specialized in providing floral arrangements for special events. Eren is responsible for many of the cutting edge floral arrangements seen on this web site and at the Deep Roots Flower Shop.
	Amy - Part-Time Nursery Associate . Amy is a resident of Torrance where she was born and raised. Studied Horticulture at UCLA and has extensive experience in landscape design. She inherits her love of gardening and plants from her family. She is the mother of a little boy and she is currently a full time student nurse.
